Today, Astana International University hosted a meeting with Gintaras Steponavičius, Director of Cormack Consultancy Group and former Minister of Education and Science of Lithuania.

During the discussions, the parties reviewed key areas of potential partnership that will help the university strengthen its position on the international stage:

Expansion of the international partnership portfolio

The university is exploring opportunities to establish ties with leading universities in Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia, and the United States, as well as to launch joint double-degree programs, academic mobility, and PhD programs.

 Support in international grant applications

Cormack Consultancy Group expressed its readiness to support AIU in working with international programs such as Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, DAAD, the British Council, and others — including identifying funding opportunities, preparing applications, and managing projects.

Development of English language and academic environment

For students, faculty, and administrative staff, the EasyEnglish educational platform may be integrated, offering certification in line with international standards (CPD, CEFR, etc.).

 Internationalization strategy

Special attention was given to developing AIU’s internationalization strategy. Plans include analyzing the university’s current international activities, defining key performance indicators, developing a staffing strategy, and designing a financing model.

In his remarks, Gintaras Steponavičius emphasized that to strengthen international partnership, he is ready to facilitate new contacts with leading universities in Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia, and the United States. In particular, the discussions focused on developing and implementing double-degree programs, academic mobility, as well as joint master’s and doctoral programs.

He also openly expressed his readiness to support applications for international grants — including Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, DAAD, the British Council, and others — and confirmed his support in project management, including consortium projects with foreign universities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, he offered assistance in developing AIU’s internationalization strategy, taking into account best global practices and the university’s long-term goals.

“Astana International University is making confident steps in advancing international partnerships. Cooperation with Cormack Consultancy Group will allow us to reach a new level of academic and research integration,” noted the President of AIU.
