On September 25, 2025, faculty
members of Astana International University's School of Natural Sciences, Aiman
Avezova and Aiman Karabalaeva, along with fourth-year students of the
Ecology and Nature Management program, visited the Presidential Museum and
participated in an event organized in honor of Clean Air Day.
The event, supported by the
United Nations Development Program in the Republic of Kazakhstan (UNDP),
brought together representatives of government agencies, diplomatic missions,
and international organizations. The program included a presentation of the
study "Ecology through the Eyes of Kazakhstanis," an expert
discussion of practical recommendations, and an awards ceremony for the winners
of the "Climate: Countdown" journalism competition.
Particular attention was paid
to the role of the media in promoting the climate agenda, fostering
environmental awareness, and engaging society in creating a sustainable future.
Participation in the event also served as a symbolic contribution to the "Taza
Kazakstan" initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
which unites the efforts of the state, society, and the media to protect the
environment.
For university students and
faculty, participation in this event was not only a vibrant educational
experience but also an opportunity to engage with practical issues of ecology,
sustainable development, and international cooperation in environmental protection.
Such events help future ecologists understand
the importance of their profession and inspire students to actively participate
in addressing global environmental challenges.
