From October 27 to October 31, 2025, Astana International University (AIU) hosted the traditional Biology Week, aimed at fostering students’ scientific interest, strengthening practical skills, and promoting natural science education. The week included a program of thematic activities such as laboratory sessions, master classes, quests, and intellectual competitions.

The opening took place on October 27 and was followed by a charity fair organized by students and faculty. All funds raised were directed toward supporting social initiatives.

On October 28, a quest called “Escape from the Laboratory” was held for 1st and 2nd-year students, where teams competed in solving biological challenges and puzzles.

On October 29, participants engaged in microscope laboratory work and explored various biological specimens and research methods.

On October 30, the intellectual game “Biomillionaire” took place, where students demonstrated their biological knowledge and competed in groups.

On the same day, AIU’s Pedagogical Institute hosted a master class titled “Assessment of Learning. Assessment for Learning”, conducted by Serikkaycha Sagatbekova, teacher of School-Gymnasium No. 70, winner of the “Best Teacher of the Year – 2016” award and recipient of the Y. Altynsarin medal. She shared practical approaches to lesson planning and formative assessment.

On October 31, the closing ceremony of Biology Week was held. The results were summarized, active participants were awarded, and creative performances were presented.

AIU continues to promote educational initiatives that enhance students’ academic motivation, support practice-oriented learning, and strengthen the professional preparation of future teachers.
