On November 20, 2025, a
scientific webinar was held in Astana, organized by Astana International
University (AIU) jointly with the Poznan University of Life Sciences (UPP,
Poland). The event marked another step in strengthening Kazakh-Polish
scientific cooperation.
The webinar was held in a
combined format: offline in AIU Room 207 and online, with participants from
Kazakhstan, Poland, and other countries. It began at 2:00 PM Astana time.
Professor Krzysztof Szoszkiewicz,
Rector of the Poznan University of Life Sciences, welcomed the participants,
noting the growing importance of international cooperation in environmental
research. The webinar was moderated by Professor Klaudia Borowiak, Dean of the
Faculty of Environmental Engineering (UPP), and Ruslan Muratov, Dean of the AIU
School of Life Sciences. They provided scientific support for the webinar and
facilitated a rich discussion on current environmental issues and modern
methods for studying aquatic ecosystems.
The program included scientific
presentations.
Dr. Michal Brzozowski (UPP)
presented the results of a multi-year experimental study on the impact of
climate warming on periphyton, aquatic plants, and charophytes in temperate
lakes.
Acting Professor Aizhan
Kashagankyzy Zhamangara (AIU) discussed the problems of aquatic ecosystem
pollution and modern approaches to their restoration, focusing on innovative
methods for assessing anthropogenic impact.
Following the meeting, the
parties emphasized their intention to expand cooperation in the field of
ecology and sustainable development, promote academic mobility, and jointly
host international scientific events.
