On January 27, 2026, the Higher School of Economics hosted a scientific seminar entitled “The 21st Century Manager: New Competencies in the Age of AI,” which brought together experts and young scientists to discuss the transformation of management paradigms. The event was opened with a welcome speech by the dean of the Higher School of Economics, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor Zubirash Kalybekovna Smagulova, who set the tone for the discussion on the importance of integrating academic knowledge into the practical environment. The moderator was Associate Professor B.Z. Zhumagaliyeva, Ph.D. in Economics, who created a platform for the open exchange of ideas that define the face of modern management in Kazakhstan.

The program focused on presentations by young researchers on human capital and technology. Doctoral students from Astana International University presented their reports: D.A. Mardenova explored the topic of adaptation in the workplace through the prism of social responsibility, while K.R. Nursultanova presented arguments in favor of emotional intelligence as a key factor in leadership. Of particular interest was the discussion on the introduction of AI agents, highlighting the university's desire to keep pace with global digital trends. Master's and bachelor's students from the Management program also presented their reports.

This event was a direct contribution to the implementation of SDG 4: Quality Education. By supporting such initiatives, the university not only imparts knowledge, but also fosters an inclusive and innovative educational environment. Developing research skills in students and doctoral candidates helps prepare a new generation of leaders who can tackle complex sustainable development challenges and ensure the competitiveness of the national economy in the age of artificial intelligence.
