"Journey into the World of Oscillations and Waves": Conference Lesson for Group "Physics-24"

On December 10, 2024, AIU hosted a conference lesson on the topic "Oscillations and Waves" for the students of group "Physics-24". Under the guidance of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Kasenova Leila Galymbekovna, the event became an engaging journey into the world of science, practical experiments, and creative ideas.

The aim of the conference was to deepen the understanding of mechanical oscillations and waves, as well as to showcase students' practical skills and creative projects. During the event, participants presented their projects, including:

  • Interactive games such as Sudoku and Quizizz tests.
  • Experiments using mathematical and spring pendulums to determine free fall acceleration and spring stiffness.
  • Virtual experiments with the Phet simulator, including a mathematical pendulum and interference phenomena.
  • Graph creation for functions using Python programming.
  • Development of a seismograph model and calculation of the wavelength of musical notes.
  • Analysis of Dimash Kudaibergen’s vocals based on the song Stranger, including modeling sound waves.
  • Simulation of sound waves in different environments using an audio editor.
  • Demonstration of the positive effects of sound frequencies on human health.
  • Visualization of sound through experimental methods.
  • Conducting experiments demonstrating oscillations in everyday life.
  • A fascinating journey into the fairy-tale world of "The Kingdom of Oscillations and Waves."

Seminar on "Unified Educational Program" at AIU

On December 6, 2024, within the framework of the memorandum of mutual cooperation between the Ы. Altynsarin National Academy of Education and AIU, a special seminar on the topic "Unified Educational Program" was held. The event was attended by students from the Pedagogical Institute of AIU.

The seminar was conducted by Senior Researcher Aizhan Magaulykyz, who discussed key aspects of the topic "Ideologemes of the Triad of Education. Updating the Paradigm of Education." The presentation was based on ideas expressed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in his speech at the National Kurultai. The discussion focused on the main directions of youth education and proposed ways to update the educational paradigm for modern educational institutions.

Special attention was given to the discussion of social projects and initiatives. Aizhan Magaulykyz presented promising ideas and provided practical recommendations for their implementation.

Excursion to the Center for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage

On December 5, 2024, students of the 3rd year of the OP "Recreational Geography and Tourism" under the guidance of a senior lecturer,PhD at the Higher School of Natural Sciences Sadykov Zh.A. visited the Center for the Preservation of Monuments and objects of historical and Cultural Heritage.

 The director of the Center, Manshuk Isaeva, conducted an informative tour, telling that the building of the former Muslim school, which today houses the Center for the Preservation of Monuments and Objects of Historical and Cultural Heritage, dates back to the end of the XIX century. This is an architectural monument, which is one of the unique examples of wooden architecture of the late XIX - early XX century. The building is a residential building made in the form of a wooden log house, which is decorated with rich carved wooden decor. There are 111 monuments in Astana, more than half of which were installed during the years of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Center Manshuk Isaeva said. The staff of the center studies the technical condition of the monuments, conducts current repairs and restoration work. Their list is updated and updated annually. With this in mind, the certification of monuments and cultural heritage sites is carried out with the introduction of historical, architectural, archaeological information, assessment of their significance, dimensional drawings, etc. The Center for Ensuring the Preservation of Monuments and Objects of Historical and Cultural Heritage, located in this building, is a structural subdivision of the State Committee for the Management of United Museums of the Akimat of Astana. He is engaged in the preservation, restoration and popularization of the historical and cultural heritage of Astana. To achieve this goal, lectures, excursions and thematic events are held at the monuments and memorial complexes of our city for guests and residents of the capital.

Experience, Inspiration, New Horizons: An AIU Student in Moscow

Academic mobility opens new horizons of knowledge and experience for students, and the story of Aidana Zhumakenova, a student at the School of Natural Sciences (Group RG&T-23B), is a vivid example of this.

During her four months in Moscow, Aidana not only immersed herself in the unique heritage of one of the world’s largest cultural and scientific centers but also completed an enriching academic program. At Moscow University, she studied subjects such as Urban Development Theory, Fundamentals of Remote Earth Sensing, Introduction to Cultural Studies, and Artificial Intelligence in Communications. These courses helped her develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Aidana actively participated in the volunteer project "Youth Business." This initiative allowed her to bring her ideas to life, tackle practical challenges, enhance her leadership skills, and contribute to the development of the local community.

"Educated youth - the future of independent Kazakhstan"

On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan on December 6, 2024, a round table was held on the topic "Educated youth - the future of independent Kazakhstan", organized by the Higher School of Law.

The main goal of the event was to contribute to strengthening the independence of the country and ensuring its future by increasing the level of education, patriotic consciousness and social activity of young people, our students.

The round table began with a display of the exhibition "Achievements of Independent Kazakhstan" by the employee of the library of the 5th building of the university Albatyrova B.J.        

In the next speech, the deputy dean Zh.D. Seilkhanov announced the opening of the round table and shared his thoughts on Independence Day.

The event was continued by students of group A-2 "Kukyktanu-24", under the supervision of curator S.G. Kozhakhmetova, they shared their reports and made presentations on the following topics:

1. Erdenuly Yerasyl "Kazakhstan's path to independence and its historical significance"

2. Amanbek Alnur, Amandykkyzy Fariza "Strategies for the legal development of independent Kazakhstan" (legal reforms)

3. Abibulla Aiym "The place and role of independent Kazakhstan in the international arena"

Miss and Mister AIU-2024: inspiration, style, success

On December 9, 2024, the K. Kuanishbayev Kazakh National Drama Theater became the stage for the vibrant and unforgettable event — the “Miss and Mister AIU-2024” contest, organized by the Student Affairs Department of Astana International University. This competition not only brought together creative and talented students but also gifted the audience with a true spectacle of beauty, intellect, and art.

From the very beginning, the audience was immersed in a world of national traditions and elegance. The ethno-defile that opened the contest was a true journey into the rich world of Kazakh culture, where each participant’s look reflected respect for heritage and a creative approach.

In the intellectual round, students dazzled with their erudition and ability to answer the most challenging questions, while the creative segment filled the audience with genuine emotions as they showcased their unique talents. A special moment of the evening was the graceful waltz, where the participants merged in elegant dance steps, and the program concluded with a luxurious evening gown defile, highlighting their charisma and style.

The judging panel, which included the diploma holder of the international “Shabyt” competition, artist of the Presidential Orchestra, and Master of Pedagogical Sciences, Elmira Erkinovna Erezhepova, Miss Astana 2022 Dilyara Zhumabay, the founder of the SEO communication platform BAQ/MEDIA/PR/PRESS SERVICES Aigerim Zhakypsyzy Meirkhanova, and other esteemed experts, closely followed every stage of the contest. Choosing the winners was no easy task, as all the participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, creativity, and individuality.

The highlight of the evening — the announcement of the winners — was a moment filled with joy and pride. The Grand Prix of the contest rightfully went to students of the School of Arts and Humanities — Serikhan Tomiris Timurkyzy and Serikuly Amirali.
