Cooperation between educational institutions and defense structures opens new horizons in preparing specialists capable of effectively responding to the challenges of the modern world 🌍.

Today, on December 13th, a strategically important agreement was signed at Astana International University with the Command of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan 🛡️. This agreement will serve as the foundation for long-term cooperation in the educational, scientific, and industrial spheres.

The event was attended by high-profile guests, including the Deputy Commander of the Air Defense Forces for educational and ideological work, Colonel Talgat Serikovich Syzdykov, as well as representatives of military units from the Ministry of Defense: Colonels Medet Baurlanovich Asketaev, Saparghali Amanataevich Telegenov, Dauren Bukonievich Karakatov, and Lieutenant Colonels Bolat Abaevich Khametov, Ruslan Saparovich Rakhmetov. This cooperation opens unique opportunities for AIU students for education and professional growth 🎓.

The signed agreement creates a strong platform for implementing joint educational programs, including training specialists in psychology with elements of military practice ⚙️.

Students will be able to undergo internships in the military sector and participate in scientific research and joint projects, providing them with invaluable experience in interdisciplinary fields 🔬. In turn, university professors will have the opportunity for professional development, and military experts will be actively involved in conducting lectures and scientific consultations, enriching the educational process 🎓.

The Center for Sustainable Development and International Partnership, in collaboration with the Diplomatic Club Astana, continues the December session "Lectures by Ambassadors, Experts, and Public Figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 2024" at Astana International University.

The program will feature the following speakers:
• Arman Satimov – General Director of "WhiteStone," Advisor to the Chairman of the Association of Economists of Kazakhstan, Member of Qazaq Geography, Trustee of the National Health Development Fund and the international school "Hyperion Astana," an expert in scenario planning, economics, corporate finance, oil and gas, and energy.
• Anuar Dairov – Leadership development expert.
• Arken Kenesbekovich (KazAID).
• Syrimbet Zhangeldy Zhenisovich – Inspector of the Foreign Policy Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Jaak Aary – Ambassador of Estonia to Kazakhstan.
• Aleska Simkic – Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan.

Upon completion of the lecture series, all participants will be awarded certificates. This is a unique opportunity for students of international relations and translation studies to gain practical experience and enhance their professional skills.

On December 10, 2024, AIU hosted a conference lesson on the topic "Oscillations and Waves" for the students of group "Physics-24". Under the guidance of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Kasenova Leila Galymbekovna, the event became an engaging journey into the world of science, practical experiments, and creative ideas.

The aim of the conference was to deepen the understanding of mechanical oscillations and waves, as well as to showcase students' practical skills and creative projects. During the event, participants presented their projects, including:

• Interactive games such as Sudoku and Quizizz tests.
• Experiments using mathematical and spring pendulums to determine free fall acceleration and spring stiffness.
• Virtual experiments with the Phet simulator, including a mathematical pendulum and interference phenomena.
• Graph creation for functions using Python programming.
• Development of a seismograph model and calculation of the wavelength of musical notes.
• Analysis of Dimash Kudaibergen’s vocals based on the song Stranger, including modeling sound waves.
• Simulation of sound waves in different environments using an audio editor.
• Demonstration of the positive effects of sound frequencies on human health.
• Visualization of sound through experimental methods.
• Conducting experiments demonstrating oscillations in everyday life.
• A fascinating journey into the fairy-tale world of "The Kingdom of Oscillations and Waves."

The conference concluded with an inspiring quote by the great American physicist Nikola Tesla:
"If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration."

This conference lesson was not only a significant milestone in the students' education but also a vivid example of the seamless integration of science and creativity.

On December 6, 2024, as part of the collaboration between AIU and preschool education institutions, a master class was held for students of the "Preschool Education and Training" program. The event, titled "Implementing the 'Integrated Education' Program in Kindergartens," was conducted by Raykhan Altynkhanovna Augaliyeva, the head of the №82 "Aiyaru" nursery-kindergarten under the Astana City Administration.

The main goal of the master class was to introduce students to the practical aspects of implementing the "Integrated Education" program through children's play activities. Participants had the opportunity not only to learn about advanced methods in education but also to engage directly in the practices presented by the educator.

During the session, Raykhan Altynkhanovna shared her extensive experience, highlighted the importance of play in the educational process, and answered students' questions in an interactive format. The active participation of the students demonstrated their interest and readiness to apply the acquired knowledge in their future professional endeavors.

Such master classes help shape students' professional competencies and strengthen their confidence in their chosen career paths.

On December 6, 2024, within the framework of the memorandum of mutual cooperation between the Ы. Altynsarin National Academy of Education and AIU, a special seminar on the topic "Unified Educational Program" was held. The event was attended by students from the Pedagogical Institute of AIU.

The seminar was conducted by Senior Researcher Aizhan Magaulykyz, who discussed key aspects of the topic "Ideologemes of the Triad of Education. Updating the Paradigm of Education." The presentation was based on ideas expressed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in his speech at the National Kurultai. The discussion focused on the main directions of youth education and proposed ways to update the educational paradigm for modern educational institutions.

Special attention was given to the discussion of social projects and initiatives. Aizhan Magaulykyz presented promising ideas and provided practical recommendations for their implementation.

A highlight of the event was the interactive game "Happy Sticker." Participants wrote warm and kind wishes on stickers, which were then passed around to others. This unique format helped create a friendly atmosphere and fostered team spirit among students.

The seminar became an important platform for exchanging experiences and professional growth for students. Such initiatives strengthen cooperation between educational institutions and contribute to the implementation of modern approaches in educational activities.

On December 5, 2024, students of the 3rd year of the OP "Recreational Geography and Tourism" under the guidance of a senior lecturer,PhD at the Higher School of Natural Sciences Sadykov Zh.A. visited the Center for the Preservation of Monuments and objects of historical and Cultural Heritage.

 The director of the Center, Manshuk Isaeva, conducted an informative tour, telling that the building of the former Muslim school, which today houses the Center for the Preservation of Monuments and Objects of Historical and Cultural Heritage, dates back to the end of the XIX century. This is an architectural monument, which is one of the unique examples of wooden architecture of the late XIX - early XX century. The building is a residential building made in the form of a wooden log house, which is decorated with rich carved wooden decor. There are 111 monuments in Astana, more than half of which were installed during the years of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Center Manshuk Isaeva said. The staff of the center studies the technical condition of the monuments, conducts current repairs and restoration work. Their list is updated and updated annually. With this in mind, the certification of monuments and cultural heritage sites is carried out with the introduction of historical, architectural, archaeological information, assessment of their significance, dimensional drawings, etc. The Center for Ensuring the Preservation of Monuments and Objects of Historical and Cultural Heritage, located in this building, is a structural subdivision of the State Committee for the Management of United Museums of the Akimat of Astana. He is engaged in the preservation, restoration and popularization of the historical and cultural heritage of Astana. To achieve this goal, lectures, excursions and thematic events are held at the monuments and memorial complexes of our city for guests and residents of the capital.

Academic mobility opens new horizons of knowledge and experience for students, and the story of Aidana Zhumakenova, a student at the School of Natural Sciences (Group RG&T-23B), is a vivid example of this.

During her four months in Moscow, Aidana not only immersed herself in the unique heritage of one of the world’s largest cultural and scientific centers but also completed an enriching academic program. At Moscow University, she studied subjects such as Urban Development Theory, Fundamentals of Remote Earth Sensing, Introduction to Cultural Studies, and Artificial Intelligence in Communications. These courses helped her develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Aidana actively participated in the volunteer project "Youth Business." This initiative allowed her to bring her ideas to life, tackle practical challenges, enhance her leadership skills, and contribute to the development of the local community.

As part of the Russian Language and Literature Week, the Pedagogical Institute of AIU held a Literary Salon meeting on the topic "Poetry Calls Us Far Away...", dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the great Kazakh figure, poet, and writer Saken Seifullin.

The event was organized under the guidance of Associate Professor Talgatbek Duyssenbekovich Abzhakov and Narmanova Razia Ibragimovna. First-year students from the Kazakh department of non-linguistic specialties prepared a rich and informative program, including:

• A presentation and video about the life and creative path of Saken Seifullin;
• Expressive readings of the poet's poems;
• A colorful display board with information about his literary heritage.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, providing students with a unique opportunity to engage with the work of one of the key figures in Kazakh literature.

For their active participation and creative approach, students were awarded certificates from the Dean's Office of the Pedagogical Institute of AIU.

On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan on December 6, 2024, a round table was held on the topic "Educated youth - the future of independent Kazakhstan", organized by the Higher School of Law.

The main goal of the event was to contribute to strengthening the independence of the country and ensuring its future by increasing the level of education, patriotic consciousness and social activity of young people, our students.

The round table began with a display of the exhibition "Achievements of Independent Kazakhstan" by the employee of the library of the 5th building of the university Albatyrova B.J.        

In the next speech, the deputy dean Zh.D. Seilkhanov announced the opening of the round table and shared his thoughts on Independence Day.

The event was continued by students of group A-2 "Kukyktanu-24", under the supervision of curator S.G. Kozhakhmetova, they shared their reports and made presentations on the following topics:

1. Erdenuly Yerasyl "Kazakhstan's path to independence and its historical significance"

2. Amanbek Alnur, Amandykkyzy Fariza "Strategies for the legal development of independent Kazakhstan" (legal reforms)

3. Abibulla Aiym "The place and role of independent Kazakhstan in the international arena"

4. Asybaeva Sabina "Future orientation: development prospects of independent Kazakhstan".

Thus, the round table, in which the faculty of the Higher School of Law, the deputy dean and students took part, achieved its goal and all issues were comprehensively considered.

On December 9, 2024, the K. Kuanishbayev Kazakh National Drama Theater became the stage for the vibrant and unforgettable event — the “Miss and Mister AIU-2024” contest, organized by the Student Affairs Department of Astana International University. This competition not only brought together creative and talented students but also gifted the audience with a true spectacle of beauty, intellect, and art.

From the very beginning, the audience was immersed in a world of national traditions and elegance. The ethno-defile that opened the contest was a true journey into the rich world of Kazakh culture, where each participant’s look reflected respect for heritage and a creative approach.

In the intellectual round, students dazzled with their erudition and ability to answer the most challenging questions, while the creative segment filled the audience with genuine emotions as they showcased their unique talents. A special moment of the evening was the graceful waltz, where the participants merged in elegant dance steps, and the program concluded with a luxurious evening gown defile, highlighting their charisma and style.

The judging panel, which included the diploma holder of the international “Shabyt” competition, artist of the Presidential Orchestra, and Master of Pedagogical Sciences, Elmira Erkinovna Erezhepova, Miss Astana 2022 Dilyara Zhumabay, the founder of the SEO communication platform BAQ/MEDIA/PR/PRESS SERVICES Aigerim Zhakypsyzy Meirkhanova, and other esteemed experts, closely followed every stage of the contest. Choosing the winners was no easy task, as all the participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, creativity, and individuality.

The highlight of the evening — the announcement of the winners — was a moment filled with joy and pride. The Grand Prix of the contest rightfully went to students of the School of Arts and Humanities — Serikhan Tomiris Timurkyzy and Serikuly Amirali. Their performances embodied the harmony of talent, confidence, and deep respect for traditions.
