Astana International University Student Wins Prize at the International English Language Olympiad

Shadiya Kulzhanova, a first-year student at Astana International University,

won third place in the annual International Olympiad in Foreign Languages

(English) among students of non-linguistic humanities specialties and training

programs.

The prestigious intellectual competition was organized by the Ufa University

of Science and Technology (Ufa, Russian Federation) and brought together

talented students from different countries, demonstrating a high level of foreign

language proficiency, academic excellence, and communication skills.

The Olympiad was held in two stages: the first round took place online on

April 16–17, 2026, while the second round, which included oral communication

and translation tasks, was conducted on April 24, 2026, using дистанционных

educational technologies.

The significance of this achievement is highlighted by the fact that Shadiya

Kulzhanova became the only representative of Kazakhstan to receive a prize-

winning place in the competition.

The student’s outstanding result was made possible thanks to the

professional guidance and mentorship of Zhansaya Bakhtybekovna Tolegenova,

Master of Pedagogical Sciences and Senior Lecturer at Astana International

University. In recognition of her contribution to preparing the participant, she was

awarded a letter of appreciation by the Olympiad organizing committee.
