On September 17, 2025, a round table on the topic was
held at Astana International University with the participation of the Committee
for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of
Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan: "Issues of the
activities of dissertation councils and scientific journals of military and
special educational institutions."
The main purpose of the event is to discuss ways to
improve the activities of dissertation councils in military and special
educational institutions and to improve the quality of scientific journals.
Representatives of government agencies, members of dissertation councils,
editors-in-chief and scientists took part in the work.
The President of Astana International University opened
the event, emphasizing the role of dissertation councils and their importance
for the development of science.
During the meeting, the participants discussed mechanisms
for improving the work of dissertation councils, current areas for improving
the quality of scientific journals, as well as ways to strengthen the
scientific potential of military and specialized educational institutions.
Special attention was paid to the publication of
qualitative research, the role of dissertation councils in the training of
scientific personnel and the preservation of academic integrity.
Following the results of the round table, a number of
proposals were developed, the implementation of which will be continued in the
near future.
