In February this year, undergraduates of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the signed memorandum of cooperation, undergo pedagogical practice at the Astana International University.

Pedagogical practice is a special course that provides flexible interactive interaction between undergraduates and leading scientists, deepening and consolidating previously acquired theoretical knowledge. It is aimed at the practical development of teaching technologies by undergraduates.

Undergraduates who are active employees of law enforcement agencies (prosecutor's office, anti-corruption service, police, etc.), during their scientific and pedagogical practice, conduct classes for students under the mentorship of the teaching staff of the Higher School of Law, thereby gaining teaching skills and saturating classes with their rich practical experience.

On February 15, 2024, Acting Professor of Higher school of natural sciences Nurushev M.Zh. conducted career guidance work in the graduating classes of School-Gymnasium №7 and School-Lyceum Daryn №13 in the city of Zhanaozen, as well as in the largest Secondary School №3 in the city of Aktau. It is precisely during this period that students are making choices regarding their future professions, which is why, at the initiative of the professor, work was carried out to assist them in understanding their own interests, abilities, and opportunities on the path to choosing a profession.

During the meetings, educational programs of the AIU, forms of education, and booklets introducing information about the university were presented. Students received information about academic mobility, opportunities to participate in international conferences, competitions, benefits, scholarships, and a flexible tuition payment system.

Special attention was given to individual consultations, where each student had the opportunity to discuss their questions and problems with experienced specialists, receive recommendations on choosing an educational path and a professional career.

The conducted career guidance work inspired students and gave them confidence that the future is full of opportunities. This event became an important step on their path to self-discovery and successful career choices.

Based on the memorandum of cooperation with Karabuk University dated December 19, 2022, 2nd year students of the EP “6B03101 – English and Primary School Teacher” of the Pedagogical Institute of the AIU Nokasova Dina and Syzdykova Merey are trained in academic mobility in Karabuk, Turkey from February 12, 2024 to June 15, 2024 .

The “Teaching Class” project has been launched at the Astana International University. More than 250 students from the following schools in Astana are taking part in the project: No. 30, No. 32, No. 75, No. 7 named after Gali Ormanov, No. 38 named after Alimkhan Ermekov, No. 65 named after M. Zhumabaev, No. 80 named after S. Seifullin, No. 87 named after Abay Kunanbaev, No. 90 named after K. Mukhamedkhanov, No. 4 named after Zhambyl Zhabayev, No. 67 named after Ilyas Yesenberlin.

The main goal is to form focused professional and pedagogical orientation and a sustainable interest in teaching among the participants of the “Pedagogical Class” project.

Zhanna Kuanyshevna Akhmadieva, director of the Pedagogical Institute, took part in the expanded scientific council of the Astana-Orleu branch of the Orleu national training center. 

G.O. Tusipova, Senior Teacher of the Department of Pedagogy and subject methods of the branch, and Kindergarten No. 47 “Ak zhelken” Methodists G.B. Sarsenbaeva, M.O. Akzhigitova told about the work of the experimental site “Development of children’s cognitive-linguistic abilities in kindergarten through eidetic methodology”. S.N. Zhienbaeva, Professor of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian national university, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences made a report “Methodology of pedagogical research for the implementation of scientific-practical work”. A.А. Bekish, Director of branch “Astana-Orleu” gave a speech about the priority areas of professional cooperation on improving the quality of personnel training. 

Director of Pedagogical Institute Zh.K. Akhmadieva introduced the work being carried out during the training of quality professionals at the university. The issue of agreement on cooperation in the field of education was discussed between the two institutions.

On February 15, 2024, teachers of the Pedagogical Institute of Astana International University, PhD, ass. Professor Nurkenov S.A., ass. Professor, Ph.D. Aniyarov A.A. took part in a city seminar on the topic: “Application of new methods in teaching to develop functional literacy of students” among teachers of science and mathematics. The event was organized by: the Department of Education of the city of Astana and the administration of the school-gymnasium No. 2 named after Gafu Kaiyrbekov of the Akimat of the city of Astana.

Nurkenov S.A. spoke at the seminar with a report on the topic “Physical foundations of nuclear medicine: diagnostics and therapy”, as well as Aniyarov A.A. on the topic “On mathematics in microelectromechanical systems.” The purpose of the seminar was the exchange of experience and cooperation between schools and universities within the framework of interdisciplinary connections in natural and mathematical areas, including STEM technologies, methods of teaching disciplines taking into account knowledge, including PISA.

Today, on February 14, 2024, a psychological training was held for 1st year students of the educational program "Data science" of the Higher School of Information Technology and Engineering with the participation of a psychologist from the University of Venus Eleu. 

The purpose of this training is to promote better group interaction with each other, eliminate conflicts between groups, improve relationships, as well as group cohesion and build effective team interaction.

The objectives of this training are to create a favorable psychological climate in the group.

During the training, all students actively participated and performed various exercises: "Acquaintance", "Crocodile" and "Interesting story" and discussed their answers, answered questions.

We are pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the University and the youth wing of the Zhastar Rukhy party. This is an important event that opens up new prospects for the development of education and active participation of young people in political life. 

Our University always strives to cooperate with various organizations and communities in order to create a favorable environment for the learning and development of our students. The signing of a memorandum with the youth wing of the Zhastar Rukhy party is an important step in this direction.

On February 6, first-year students of the educational program “Recreational Geography and Tourism” of the School of Natural Sciences visited the Mineralogical museum in Astana as part of the course "Fundamentals of Geology and Geomorphology." The purpose of this excursion was the practical study of the topic "Minerals". The exhibition featured a vast number of unique specimens collected by the museum director and founder, Ismailov Olzhabay Zhumagalievich. Students visually acquainted themselves with minerals from our republic and other countries. They had the opportunity to touch precious and semi-precious stones, fossils, artifacts, and much more.

This excursion allowed us to form a visual understanding of the natural diversity of minerals and became a unique opportunity to broaden the horizons of students. In the 2023-2024 academic year, a cooperation agreement was concluded between Astana International University and Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly. In the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, academic exchange of students between universities was carried out for the first time. Thus, 2nd year VSHEN students Asem Isergepova (Ecology and Environmental Management) and Alina Abilova (Biology) are studying at the Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly. And environmental students from Kostanay, Karina Dotsenko and Natalya Yablonskaya, are studying at the AMU with a degree in Ecology and Environmental Management.

А scientific seminar was held at the Higher School of Natural Sciences on the results of the research of master and PhD students for the first semester of the academic year. The purpose of such reporting scientific seminars is the formation of students' competencies necessary for research activities and the development of skills for conducting scientific discussion, correct oral and written presentation of research results. Master student Sultankulov A.M. and PhD students Takirova M.B., Alemseitova Zh.K. and Bolgibaeva A.B. demonstrated a high level of preparation for the seminar, presenting all the materials and results of the work for the reporting period. During the discussion the teaching staff noted all the positive points and gave constructive comments and recommendations. The PhD students noted that the questions, valuable comments and recommendations of teachers contribute to the further development of doctoral students as independent researchers.

On February 7, 2024, a guest lecture was held for students of the Higher School of Information Technology and Engineering with the participation of the developer of the company TSARKA, Zholai Abdubek, on the topic "Continuous self-improvement in the IT field".

During the lecture, Zholai Abdubek explained what continuous self-improvement is and why it is especially important in the dynamically developing IT sector. He explained the importance of constantly exploring new technologies, programming languages, tools and platforms, and also discussed current trends such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, cybersecurity and how they are transforming the industry. He presented various ways of self-education, including online courses, certification programs, webinars, master classes, as well as books and scientific articles, and also showed how to choose learning resources according to individual interests and goals.

The lecture turned out to be very valuable for students studying programs on "Computer Engineering and software", as well as on "Data Science". These lectures play an important role in shaping students' understanding of their future professional path and help them build the foundations for a successful career in their chosen fields.
